Professional Engineering (P.E.) Licenses:

We maintain engineering licenses in multiple states in order to work on diverse projects.  This allows us to bring the best construction methods  to your project.

Engineering licenses in the Midwest include:
– Minnesota

– Wisconsin
– Iowa
– Michigan

In the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast we are licensed in:
– Tennessee
– North Carolina
– South Carolina
– Georgia
– Florida

What is a P.E. License?

To become licensed, someone must earn a degree from an approved university.  They must then work under another person that is licensed for at least four years.  Two daylong exams must be passed.  Finally, the engineer must earn a license from each state’s licensing board.

As you can see, becoming a P.E. can be a long and difficult road.  Many people take nearly 10-years to receive their license.  Keep reading to see how the journey does not end by just getting a license.

It is important to maintain current licenses

What else makes a P.E. different?

After becoming a P.E., the engineer must continue to maintain and improving their skills. Each state requires taking more training courses.  The amount of training each year varies by state.  But, they are an important part of having a license.

Licensed engineers must adhere to a code of conduct.  This code is reviewed each license period during a renewal period.

Only a licensed engineer may prepare, sign, seal, and submit plans and drawings.  Above all, the person has a duty to watch out for public welfare.  This high degree of integrity is one our founding principles.

When selecting a partner on your project, keep an eye out for a company that offers “engineering” without a license.  Both the individual and the company should be approved by the state’s license board.

You can verify a license in each state by using their online tools.  Simply search their site to look up a license.
